Luis Valenzuela

Luis Valenzuela – Architect – Executive Director, Observatorio de Ciudades UC
Architect and Master of Architecture, Catholic University of Chile.
Doctor in Urban Design from Harvard University, USA.

Projects Worked:

From 1997 to date, has been Professor of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Studies at the Catholic University. Lead a series of research projects and publications on sustainable urban design and vulnerable areas in the cities, along with making classes at PhD and Masters in the same university. He was Editor of the book Bringing Harvard Yards to the River. Currently he is Research is affiliated to the Institute of International Urban Development – IIUDS, Cambridge USA – former Center for Urban Development Studies at Harvard University.
Within the last projects he has been involved are clinical strategic plan San Carlos de Apoquindo, campus master plan as counter UC, UC Science and Technology Park, among others.

Nicole Norel

Nicole Norel – Economist – General Manager

Projects Worked:

Nicole belongs to Observatorio de Ciudades since 2007, giving the team its expertise in public-private partnerships, economic evaluations and Public Policy. Norel worked in the Directorate of Planificacación the Ministry of Public Works, to developing a project prioritization system for formulating the Annual Budget, and then was the National Coordinator of Bicentennial Program

Felipe Morales

He is Territorial Project Professional SEREX UC since 1998. Specializing in land use planning tools, risk analysis and application of geographic information systems at the spatial analysis. Incorporated since 2006 at UC City Centre as Project Coordinator and Operations Manager of the Directorate of Extension and External Services since 2010.

Ricardo Truffello

Ricardo Truffello – Geographer – Responsible Digital Platform

Projects Worked:

He has worked in numerous projects as a consultant in GIS and in charge of plans in spatial planning projects. He worked on the Project Management Unit of the Institute of Geography, Universidad Católica (2002 – 2004), in SEREX of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Studies (2004 – 2006) and currently in charge of the digital platform Observatorio de Ciudades UC.

Marcela LetelierMarcela Letelier –Architect – Professional Observatorio de Ciudades UC

Marcela has developed various projects and urban design consulting since 2006 in the Observatorio de Ciudades, among which is the “Park Profile Study of Science, Technology, Culture and the Arts, Coquimbo Region”, the ”Technical Support and Location Analysis of Demand for Telecommunications Infrastructure” and “Development Consulting Strategic Guidelines for Reconstruction / Relocation and Conceptual Master Plan for Post-Disaster Chaiten.” He currently works as a professional Observatory.

Since 2006 to date, has worked on various projects related to urban development, relocation of human settlements and environmental impact assessment. Among those are the Plan Regulador Comunal de San José, the Relocation of the City of Chaitén and the Environmental Impact Study of the City Bicentennial Park. Currently being developed as a professional OCUC.

Jorge HeirmannJorge Heitmann – Architect – Professional Observatorio de Ciudades UC

Projects Worked:

He has worked as a collaborator and partner in Akros Architecture. The 2005 won a scholarship to study Master Alban at the Technical University of Delft, Netherlands, ending in 2007.

He has been invited as a professor at TUDelft and Berlage Institute in Rotterdam in Holland and is currently a professor in the School of Architecture, Design and Urban Studies at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, the Universidad Diego Portales and Universidad de Talca.

Since 2008 he has collaborated on various projects with SEREX and the OCUC of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica as the design and development of UC College building and the Park Master Plan Science and Technology of the PUC, serving as project coordinator as the “Situation Analysis of Free Trade in the metropolitan area and its relation to the Passenger Transportation System “and” Risk Study of earthquakes and tsunamis to coastal communities in the regions of O’Higgins and Maule. ”

With 10 years of experience in design, urban studies (research and consultancy) and management of urban projects, urban projects has been implemented in various cities of Chile and the world as the study “Civic Center Building Ríos Region” pre-feasibility stage in Chaitén “Study alternative relocation / reconstruction,” London “Sustainability strategy for urban regeneration project of 55 hectares in east London and in Saudi Arabia” Master Plan for the development of 500 hectares of land located between the center and historic waterfront.
